How many would "survive" Christmas without alcohol, drugs, marijuana and gift receiving and giving, thinking they are celebrating the true "Birth of Christ"?
Could we, would we just try to celebrate Jesus' birth by giving Him love and gratitude. To love Him with all of our hearts. Bless the days when we went to Midnight Mass, or Midnight Meditation and then being filled with His presence we loved one another and gave small gifts as tokens to the Christ Child within one another. Our Christmas Day was filled with Christ, and we could almost touch His tiny hand and breath the same air as He breathed.
On Christmas Day we celebrated a Spiritual Christmas. Such happiness filled our hearts as we held fast to Divine Mother's apron strings cooking a meal in His honor. Tangible images of Mother Mary and Saint Joseph and the Shepherds and Angels were all around us and filled our hearts with joy. Our minds and hearts were so full of the essence of that precious site of the Holy Babe lying in His manger, the dance of the bright star of Jupiter conjunction with Regulus and Venus proclaimed a King had been born. We celebrate Him.
Would that everyday be Christmas?
From Paramahansa Yogananda Metaphysical Meditations
“I will prepare for the coming of the Omnipresent baby Christ by cleaning the cradle of my consciousness, now rusty with selfishness, indifference, and sense attachments; and by polishing it with deep. Daily, divine meditation, introspection, and discrimination. I will remodel the cradle with the dazzling soul-qualities of brotherly love, humbleness, faith, desire for God-realization, will power, self-control., renunciation, and unselfishness, that I may fittingly celebrate the birth of the Divine Child.” Metaphysical Meditations, Paramahansa Yogananda
“He accepts only the gifts of sacred soul qualities. His acceptance will be His greatest gift; for it means that , in return the gift that He will bestow on you shall be nothing less than Himself. In giving Himself He shall make your heart big enough to hold Him. Your heart shall throb with Christ in everything."
"Enjoy this festivity, the birth of Christ, in your mind and soul and in every living atom. By daily meditation you will prepare the cradle of your consciousness to hold the infinite baby Christ. Every day will become a true Christmas of divine communion.” Metaphysical Meditations Paramahansa Yogananda
"Break the limitations of caste, color, race, religious prejudice and in harmony that the cradle of your heart be big enough to hold within you the Christ-love for all creation.
On every Christmas morn of your inner perception, prepare precious packages of divine qualities and deliver them to the beloved souls who gather around the Christmas tree of inner awakening to commemorate His birth in understanding, truth, and bliss."
"Celebrating the birth of omniscient, omnipresent Christ Consciousness on the joyous Christmas festivity of your inner awakening, you will find the unbroken happiness of your dreams."
"Let the omniscient Christ Consciousness come to earth a second time and be born in you, even as it was manifested in the consciousness of Jesus.”
